PROTOCOL FOR PRACTICE IN A HOST NATION
Between AACA and the US National Council of Architects Registration Boards (NCARB)

The Architects Accreditation Council of Australia is pleased to announce the introduction of a Protocol for Practice in a Host Nation with the US National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).

Under the terms of the Protocol, Australian architects holding an AACA Certificate/Record will be eligible to apply to practice in the US in association with a licensed US architect.

An Australian architect intending to apply to practice in the US under the terms of the Protocol must

  • be an Australian citizen

  • have a current AACA Certificate and Record

  • have successfully submitted to AACA an 'Application to be placed on the Roster of Foreign Architects in a Host Nation'.

AACA will verify the Australian architect's AACA Certification and forward the Application form to NCARB. NCARB will record the Australian architect's name on its Roster of Foreign Architects Accepted to Practice in a Domestic Jurisdiction, thereby enabling the Australian architect to practice in the US in association with a local architect.

The Protocol Application fee is $100, payable by cheque or money order.  Application packs may be obtained from AACA through:
