Overseas Educated
Qualifications in architecture obtained outside Australia generally must be assessed in terms of equivalence with an Australian qualification.
The assessment of overseas academic qualifications in architecture for the purpose of meeting the academic requirements leading to the process of registration as an architect in Australia is a two-step process.
- Provisional Assessment (a Skills Assessment for Migration Purposes can be substituted for this); and
- Final assessment
A summary of key aspects of these two processes can be accessed by clicking on the above links. AACA recommends that you carefully read the explanatory notes which accompany the application forms for each process to ensure your application meets AACA’s requirements and is complete. Applications which do not meet the requirements or are incomplete will be returned to applicants.
