Migration Assessments

The AACA assesses academic qualifications awarded in Australia and overseas for the purpose of migration for the occupation ‘Architect’, ANZSCO code 232111.

Applicants may use the outcome of the AACA’s selected assessments to support applications for the purpose of migration to Australia.

Selecting a suitable assessment

AACA Accredited Qualifications

If one of your qualifications is on the list of accredited architecture qualifications you can obtain a Skills Assessment letter through a simple verification process.

Other Australian Qualifications

If your Australian qualification is not on the list of accredited architecture programs, you do not qualify for the verification process. You may be eligible for the Overseas Qualifications Assessment if you have completed an overseas qualification. Please refer to the assessment page for eligibility and further details.

Other International Qualifications

Applicants with other qualifications from New Zealand, Hong Kong or Singapore are required to undertake the Overseas Qualifications Assessment or the Experienced Practitioner Assessment to obtain a Skills Assessment letter. Please refer to the assessment page for eligibility and further details.

Applicants who completed United Kingdom Architects Registration Board (UK ARB) prescribed qualifications Part 1 and Part 2 may be eligible to obtain a Skills Assessment letter via the UK/AUS Mutual Recognition Agreement.

Applicants who completed academic qualifications in architecture awarded by institutions outside of Australia are required to undertake the Overseas Qualifications Assessment or the Experienced Practitioner Assessment to obtain a Skills Assessment letter.

Renewing your Skills Assessment letter

Skills Assessment letters for migration purposes are valid for the period of three (3) years from the date of issue.

Overseas Qualifications Assessment

Applicants who have received a successful outcome for OQA Stage 2 previously can renew their Skills Assessment letters via this online form. If you have only completed Stage 1 of the assessment, please apply for Stage 2.

The renewed letter will be issued electronically by email with a new date. The fee is $420 and it takes approximately 10 working days to complete. A card transaction surcharge applies to all payments (1.49% for Australian cards and 2.9% for international cards).

Verification of Australian Accredited Architecture Qualification

If you would like to renew your verification letter, please simply submit a new verification application.
